International and local Christian leaders met in Jerusalem for the Global Day of Prayer. This day was founded in praying for peace of Jerusalem and has been performed dating back to year 2002. Millions of Christians worldwide representing more than thirty-thousand churches registered for the event. There are numerous underground churches from countries such as Pakistan, United Arab Emirates and China that took part in this glorious event. Unbelievably, a religious figure from Indonesia which holds the largest Muslim population worldwide registered for the event.
The Global Day of Prayer was televised for the viewing pleasure of millions of Christians worldwide who cannot attend the ceremony. The event was hosted by Robert Stearns who co-founded this special day.
The Global Day of Prayer was founded due to inspiring Christians worldwide to take initiatives in being partsolutions instead of problems. It proves obvious the issues that Israel is currently dealing with for instance; atrocities with Turkey, the Palestine’s demanding statehood through the UN (United Nations) and let us not forget the international community that surrounds Israel who have proved less than supportive of God’s chosen people. This special day is inspirational for Israel while viewing support from Christians worldwide and the peace in knowing they are praying for the Israeli people.
One of many inspirational events that transpired during the Global Day of Prayer is the fact that Christian Arabs took part in the event as well as a Catholic priest. The invitation was clear; if you believe in God and the Holy Bible, the admonition in Psalm 122, 137 and Isaiah 62 plainly states that we all must pray for peace in Jerusalem. Now, more than ever, Israel is requesting prayer from the international community for critical times lies ahead for the Israeli people.
The Global Day of Prayer is when Christians can make an impact not only in their own lives but the lives of others, especially the Israeli people. No matter your level of faith or belief, prayer proves inspirational to all of us, no matter the denomination. Israel recognizes the power of prayer which is why this special day was founded. You do not have to attend the Global Day of Prayer in order to pray for Israel. You can pray for Israel in the confines of your own home and this proves important for the Israeli people because in these difficult times, prayers from anywhere are not only respected but appreciated.
I will always pray for Israel. May God wrap his loving and strong hands around them and protect them.
I too continually pray for Israel. I do not need an annual day to perform this task. I know that God protects Israel and no matter what, God will hold the tyranist’s guilty of their constant victimization of Israel.
